You have made the decision to sell your home. How do you find an agent, or management company to begin the process?

Selling a home and making the deal takes experience, hard work, and savvy. Most homeowners choose an agent, real estate firm or association management company to help with avoiding the usual pitfalls and obstacles of selling. A homeowner’s best route is to research local agents and firms. Since they are independent businesses, each has a distinct personality and selling style. A homeowner will want to interview two or three agents or firms to find the one who is most compatible with their views and needs.

When choosing who to hire, a homeowner should think about the following items. How many local sales did an agent or firm do in the area? Multiple sales equal local expertise and clients available to discuss the specifics of the sale. Find the time to talk with lenders and lawyers. Lenders and lawyers will know who has integrity, and who is a reputable broker in the area. If a homeowner’s decision is using a firm or association management company, ask how they are staffed. This information will indicate how quickly the selling process can be handled by them. Once a homeowner narrows the field of prospects, make a phone call to each of the choices. Ask them questions about commissions and processes. How an agent or firm answers will help you determine who to hire.

Selecting the right firm or agent for your needs will make selling your home a much easier process. This will quickly move you forward to a new life.
